Tough day at Le Samyn

209 kilometers of hard racing on Belgian roads, conquering cobbles and hills resulted in a tough day. Leopard Pro Cycling's Jarno Mobach was up to the task and finished in the bunch.

Le Samyn summarized
Today's race took the peloton from Quaregnon to Dour. Being the third race in the Belgian classics opening 'weekend', there was enough reason for the best World- and ProTeams to be present at the start line. They had no problem in controlling the six-men breakaway as they brought the remainder of the attackers back with about 40 kilometers to go.

From that point on - Leopard's Colin Heiderscheid was already involved in a crash one hour before - the pace went up and a lot of attacks took place. Dutchmen Jarno Mobach showed his love for this type of race by being present in the first part of the bunch. However, since this phase was quite chaotic, a group of eight finally took a lead with unfortunately no Leopard Pro Cycling rider involved.

In the end, the escapees won the battle against the peloton by four seconds. It was Italian Matteo Trentin who sprinted to victory. For Leopard, Jarno Mobach was part of the bunch that crossed the line quickly after the winner. Not quite the result the team hoped for, but it gives the riders even more motivation for the approaching races in The Netherlands.
