Sprinting at GP Pérenchies?

Sunday, the 44th edition of the GP Pérenchies takes place. The race is a fairly straightforward one. The first part of the race consists of 6 laps, each 12 kilometers long. Then, the riders head into the second round of six laps, mostly on the same roads as before, but with a small detour to the Rue Saint-Martin, a 1.2 kilometer cobbled section. All in all, 163.2 flat kilometers are on the menu and if the weather conditions are okay, the difference should be made on the cobbles. Otherwise, a bunch sprint is very likely as has been the case in recent years. The likes of Timothy Dupont and Arnaud Démare won in a mass sprint finish and so did ex-Leopard Pro Cycling rider Jens Reynders in 2019, making him the last winner of the race.

The Leopard team heads to the French-Belgian border region with some exciting youngsters. Amongst others, the fast legs of Colin Heiderscheid and Tim Torn Teutenberg will be at the start line and also recent L'Etoile d'Or-winner Filip Maciejuk will sign the start sheet.
