Season opener at Tour of Antalya
Roster: Jack Burke, Konrad Gessner, Alexander Krieger, Jan Maas, Gaëtan Pons, Szymon Rekita - DS: Markus Zingen
For the second year in a row, Leopard Pro Cycling will start it's season at the Tour of Antalya, an UCI 2.2 race in Turkey. With good morale and a strong line-up, the team hopes to take home very solid results.
Koprulu Canyon will host the start of the first stage of this Tour of Antalya and thus Leopard Pro Cycling's season. The opening stage will take the riders over a distance of 141 kilometers back to the streets of Antalya, where a bunch sprint is to be expected. The same goes for the 111 kilometers long second stage. On the third day, a relatively short stage is planned. However, the bunch will be guided up the roads of Termessos, a climb to ancient ruins, where the finish is situated. Any disadvantages in the different classifications can still be corrected in the final stage from Side back to Antalya, a stage that last year also was decided in a mass sprint finish. For Leopard Pro Cycling, the Tour of Antalya marks the debut of Jan Maas and Jack Burke.
Jack Burke: "I am really excited to get the season started at Tour of Antalya. I only know the race for what I've seen from the technical guide and our small recon ride. Therefore, I am not sure what to expect. My first weeks at Leopard Pro Cycling have been incredible. The resources, professionalism, experience of the staff and riders made it really easy for me to adapt to Europe and the new team. Let's get things going!"
