Mountains in Tour Alsace coming up

Roster Tour Alsace: Jack Burke, Arthur Kluckers, Alexander Krieger, Pit Leyder, Jan Maas & Filip Maciejuk - DS: Markus Zingen

Both the GP Cerami and the GP Pérenchies were marked by the heat. At Cerami the race was therefore shortend by 45 kilometers, although the slightly sloping terrain made things not easy to start with. Three leaders were reeled in by the bunch and the last of four counter attackers was caught back with 400 meters to go. Great timing by the pack that went into a bunch sprint. French sprinter Byran Coquard took the win, Leopard's Pit Leyder finished in sixteenth position. GP Pérenchies - a few days later - can be summarized in the same way. After all attacks were brought back, the bunch was going to sprint for the victory. It was ex-Leopard rider Jens Reynders who took the win. For Leopard, Colin Heiderscheid and Gaëtan Pons tried to mix in, but were not quite able to finish in the top ranks.

The upcoming Tour Alsace can't be compared with Cerami and Pérenchies. After a short prologue and a somewhat easier first stage, the riders will face the climbs up to La Planche des Belles Filles and Station du Lac Blanc on days three and four. Both days offer plenty of altitude meters for the riders as they will ride the same roads as the peloton in the most recent edition of the Tour de France did. The closing stage to Dannemarie on Sunday is slightly easier for the riders, although the run into the finish line can not be underestimated. The sloping terrain offers possibilities to fight for the overall victory one more time.
