Grand Prix of the Americas: Friday

After two years without racing on American soil, we are finally at the stunning Circuit of the Americas, one of the most spectacular venues on the calendar! We can fairly say we’ve enjoyed Friday of practice sessions:

  • Early this morning a heavy rain invaded the track and Moto3 riders had to undergo the FP1 in wet conditions. Le0pard riders didn’t take risks, Xavi Artigas ended up the 12th and Dennis Foggia the 19th.
  • In the afternoon, when it was time to try again, both Xavi and Dennis improved their respective performance as the track had been dried up. Xavi, once again, confirmed his step forward and lead the standings for a while. In the end, he classified 5th, a very good result for the Spaniard! To point out he had never been before at the COTA.
  • And as for the man that is in very good shape, Dennis Foggia; the session was a good one too. Dennis occupied the top positions and after the checkered flag, the Italian set the third-fastest time. Way to go!
  • Last but not least, Xavi Artigas got the center of attention due to one of the best saves of the year: he was about to crash, but he managed to keep riding. We invite you to visit our social network channels to check out the images of that amazing moment!

Dennis Foggia, 3rd

“A very positive Friday. We are already in Q2 but we’ll try to secure the spot tomorrow. The main goal will be to do a great qualifying session to start as in front as possible on Sunday. I feel good with the bike, let’s see how Saturday goes!”

Xavi Artigas, 5th

“It’s been quite a positive day, I’ve felt good with the bike already from the FP1 that was in wet conditions. I’d never ridden before in this track and I’ve liked it. The FP2 has been even better, so overall we feel good both in dry and in wet conditions. Let’s keep pushing!”
