Cedric Pries 13th rider for Leopard Pro Cycling 2020

We are just five weeks away from the official start to the 2020 season. After recent signings, today Leopard Pro Cycling announces the addition of Cedric Pries to next year's team. The youngster joins as of the 1st of June.

By signing Pries, the Luxembourgish riders count in the team now stops at five. Pries can be described as a puncher, who likes difficult and technical races, preferably with short and steep hills. Already in 2017, his first season as a junior, Pries took part in some of the toughest races on the calendar. Results were not bad, which was a promising sign for the 2018 season. Unfortunately, it all went wrong. At the Course de la Paix, the now 19-year-old had a very nasty crash which caused him a lot of trouble. A broken vertebra, plus nine broken ribs, which also resulted in a perforated lung. Since Pries was in mortal danger for a few days, it was already a big positive that he was able to ride one more race in 2018. This year, the youngster's season was all about rehabilitation and finding the race rhythm. At the Nationals, results were already positive again and as a reward, Pries was selected for this year's Tour de l'Avenir. At Leopard Pro Cycling, Pries awaits a tough challenge, which he is willing to take, as he is eager to show himself.

Cedric Pries

"2020 will be a big year for me. I haven't finished school yet, so my first goal for next year is to pass the exams. After that, I will join Leopard Pro Cycling and I want to make sure that I will be there and give it my all for the team. In these first months in the Leopard outfit, I want to learn a lot from the other, more experienced riders. I see Leopard as a great opportunity to gain my first experiences as a continental rider. At Leopard, I find teammates that I already know quite well, so I am highly motivated to take the next step in my cycling career."
