Another top result at Midden-Brabant Poort Omloop
Just like in Leopard Pro Cycling's first participation in 2017, Alexander Krieger has been able to obtain a top result at the Midden-Brabant Poort Omloop. In the bunch sprint, the German took second place.
Six riders formed the break of the day and since some strong teams were involved. Despite having a four-minute lead halfway the race, the peloton had the attackers in sight when the race went into the final local laps in and around Gilze. Leopard had the plan to deliver Alexander Krieger in the best way possible to the final stretch. The team did this successfuly, altough there were some late attacks in the final lap, as well as some crashes. In the bunch sprint, Krieger unfortunately was beaten by Dutch sprinter Arvid de Kleijn, as he took second place, one position better than his result in 2017.
For Leopard Pro Cycling, it was the second day in a row with a podium result. One day earlier, the U23 Championships for Luxembourg, Germany and Swiss took place in Gippingen. In this combined race, only the Luxembourgers were able to play a role. In the end, both Misch Leyder (second) and Arthur Kluckers (third) finished on the podium after a demanding race, only a few seconds behind winners Ken Conter, meaning that the team has to let go of the national champion jersey for the coming year.
