The 2022 season starts at Tour of Antalya

After four months of inactivity, Leopard Pro Cycling resumes racing at the Tour of Antalya.

Tour of Antalya (UCI 2.1)
10.02 | Side - Antalya | 144.5 km
11.02 | Kemer - Antalya | 183.3 km
12.02 | Aspendos - Termessos | 110.6 km
13.02 | Antalya - Antalya | 162.1 km

On the 10th of February, the fourth edition of the Tour of Antalya takes place. In four stages through Turkey’s leading tourism center, the riders will find at least two sprint opportunities as well as an uphill finish. The stage to lookout for is stage three from Aspendos to Termessos. Being a short stage, and with a mountain top finish, the battle for GC positions will be in full swing on this day. We all remember this stage back in 2019, when Leopard Pro Cycling took the stage ánd GC win with Szymon Rekita. For this year’s edition, Leopard brings again a very strong team to Turkey. However, the team is one man short because of a private Covid contact. Due to regulations and not being able to arrange a replacement in time, the team heads to the Tour of Antalya with a six rider squad.

Who are riding?
Johannes Hodapp (GER), Kevin Inkelaar (NED), Arthur Kluckers (LUX), Elias Maris (BEL), Jarno Mobach (NED) and Tim Torn Teutenberg (GER) - DS: Jan Brockhoff (GER)

Elias Maris, makes his debut for Leopard

"After a long off-season, I am excited to start the season in the Leopard colours. I have never raced before on a UCI 2.1-level, but the winter has been good for me. I am not in top shape yet, but after my latest training camp in Gran Canaria, I am convinced that I am ready for the Tour of Antalya. However, it is difficult to make any predictions. There a lot of UCI ProTeams at the start, so opposition will be tough. For me personally, the more difficult stages two and three look interesting. I am hoping that with the team we can fight for stage wins."
